Detecting Reconnection Sites Using the Lorentz Transformations for Electromagnetic Fields

چکیده
We take a pragmatic definition of reconnection to find locations where electric field causes ExB drift that carries two components the magnetic towards their elimination. With this in mind as our target, we observe such can be found using new indicator: velocity Lorentz transformation eliminates local field. Serendipitously, indicator naturally becomes subluminal close proximity point vanish and it is hard zero at vanishing location. Everywhere else frame change far exceeds speed light. This property quickly applied practice because computing operation requires only knowledge field: simulation or observational data from instrument. further show points identified classified 6 categories extend usual types nulls case 3D presence guide The approach used identify secondary electron scale sites turbulent outflow primary site highly resolved massively parallel fully kinetic particle cell simulation. Fields of Lorentz Transformations on Space-time
Fields of Lorentz transformations on a space–time M are related to tangent bundle self isometries. In other words, a gauge transformation with respect to the −+ ++ Minkowski metric on each fibre. Any such isometry L : T (M)→ T (M) can be expressed, at least locally, as L = eF where F : T (M) → T (M) is antisymmetric with respect to the metric. We find there is a homotopy obstruction and a diffe...
متن کاملCorrect use of Lorentz–Einstein transformation equations for electromagnetic fields
There is a widespread belief that individual Lorentz–Einstein transformation equations have a physical significance of their own and can be used independently of each other. Thus, for example, some authors believe that for transforming the electric field of a parallel-plate capacitor or of a line charge from one reference frame to another it is sufficient to use only the charge-density transfor...
متن کاملLorentz and " Apparent " Transformations of the Electric and Magnetic Fields
It is recently discovered that the usual transformations of the three-dimensional (3D) vectors of the electric and magnetic fields differ from the Lorentz transformations (LT) (boosts) of the corresponding 4D quantities that represent the electric and magnetic fields. In this paper, using geometric algebra formalism, this fundamental difference is examined representing the electric and magnetic...
متن کاملLorentz Transformations
In these notes we study Lorentz transformations and focus on the group of proper, orthochronous Lorentz transformations, donated by L+. (These Lorentz transformations have determinant one and preserve the direction of time.) The 2×2 matrices with determinant one, denoted SL(2, C), play a key role, as there is a map from SL(2,C) onto L+, that is 2-to-1 and a homomorphism. In this correspondence,...
متن کاملEntangled states, Lorentz transformations, Spin-precession in magnetic fields
Effects on quantum entanglement of Lorentz transformations and constant, homogenous magnetic fields are studied. We consider the entangled state of two positive mass, spin 12 particles. For a magnetic field charge and anomalous magnetic moment of the particles are taken into account. Consequences for correlations are derived systematically. For observer frames related through Lorentz transforma...
